Orchid Hybrid Phalaenopsis Tzu Chiang Grace
28/04/2013
Phalaenopsis Tzu Chiang Grace is an epiphytic growing orchid hybrid, a crossing between Phalaenopsis Golden Peoker (seed parent) and Phalaenopsis lobbii (pollen parent).
The beautiful, small flowered orchid hybrid has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 2006 by Tzu Chiang Orchids, an orchid nursery from Taiwan. Flowers get a size of about 3-4 cm in diameter. Flowering period: Winter – Spring, but with good conditions Phalaenopsis Tzu Chiang Grace may bloom several times a year. The tropical orchid hybrid requires intermediate to warm temperatures and a location in partial shade to full shade. Especially Phalaenopsis species orchids and their hybrids like a difference between day and night temperatures and a good air movement.
Even if Phalaenopsis Tzu Chiang Grace doesn`t take a winter rest, temperatures should be decreased a bit before the flowering season to induce blooming. Phalaenopsis orchids,
as well as other orchids, should never sit in water as it may cause leaf and root rot. Not completely dried out inflorescences shouldn`t be cut away, as they may rebloom several times.
