Schltr. 1919 is an epiphytic growing miniature orchid species, endemic to the Himalayas, India (Assam), Nepal, South China, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Thailand, Laos and Malaysia. In Thailand this miniature orchid beauty is called Soi Thong, which means gold chain. Flowers get a size of just about 1 cm. Flowering period: July - August. Ornithochilus difformis orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
