The “unreal beauty” Hoya benguetensis has been named by Dr. Rudolf Schlechter (1906) after her place of discovery in the Provinz of Benguet - Philippines. The beautiful, unreal looking tropical flower Hoya benguetensis has been found in the year 1904 by the collector A. D. Elmer and was categorised by the German botanist Dr. Rudolf Schlechter in 1906. Hoya benguetensis umbels contain 10-20 flowers. Single flowers reach a size of about 2 cm.
